WEST JORDAN -- A canal break flooded some lanes of traffic along Bangerter Highway Sunday night.
Water poured out of a break 18 to 20 feet wide in the Welby Jacob canal near 10900 South around 7:30 p.m. The water traveled about 200 yards across a field then spilled onto the shoulder of the highway and the southbound lanes of the road.
It took crews until about midnight to patch the break. They still don't know what caused it.
