OGDEN — Emergency crews are responding to a report of a worker who fell inside the LDS temple in Ogden.
The Ogden Fire Department received a report just after 10:30 a.m. of a man who fell while working on the temple, 350 22nd Street, which is currently closed for renovation.
The man reportedly fell 6 to 8 feet inside the building. Details of what he was doing prior to falling were not immediately available.
The man was taken to a local hospital in non life-threatening condition.
The renovation project involves creating a new exterior for the 38-year-old temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, renovating the interior and removing the steeple from the adjacent Ogden Tabernacle. The temple will feature the latest technology and material, meet seismic requirements, boast more energy-efficient and modern mechanical systems and mirror the redevelopment occurring in downtown Ogden.
