LINDON — SWAT teams and several police agencies responded to a west Lindon neighborhood after receiving reports of an armed man thought to be suicidal.
Police received calls around 8 p.m. Saturday from family members concerned the man would hurt himself. Officers were told the man was possibly armed with a shotgun, so they alerted some neighbors to take proper precautions.
"We just had them stay inside in a safe spot in their house," said Lindon City Police Sgt. Doug Eastmond. "When we got more team members here we started to evacuate as many houses as we could within the proximity of the target."
Officers talked the man out of a house about 10:15 p.m., said Utah County SWAT commander Sgt. Shaun Bufton.
