(KSL News) -- Convicted murderer Elroy Tillman will not face the death penalty.
The Utah Attorney General's Office says it will not seek the death penalty against Tillman, but attorney general Mark Shurtleff vows to do everything he can to keep Tillman locked up for life.
Tillman was convicted of capital murder in 1983 for the killing of Mark Schoenfeld.
The Utah Supreme Court reversed Tillman's death sentence, but kept his conviction intact.
Prosecutors say Tillman -- now 70- years- old -- will likely die in prison.
