CLEARFIELD -- Clearfield police are searching for the person who robbed the America First Credit Union at 350 N. Main Street Friday afternoon.
The robbery occured shortly after police received a call from an unknown caller claiming a man had entered Clearfield High School with a handgun under his shirt.
The school was locked down while officers searched the school. School was out at the time, so only a handful of students and teachers remained.
A few minutes later police received a second call- this time from America First Credit Union. A man approached the teller, told her this was a robbery and demanded all of the money in her drawer.
The teller complied and the robber fled east away from the credit union.
Responding officers searched the area and talked to several people, but did not locate the robber.
The robber is described as having brown hair, a light-colored goatee and a jawline beard. He was wearing a knit cap with a small bill, orange-tinted sunglasses and a two-tone Billabong sweatshirt.
Police do not know if the two incidents are related and are handling them separately, but they do say it is suspicious the two calls came in so close together.
If you have any information police ask that you call 801-525-2806.
