PROVO - This week, Bronco Mendenhall and his players invited the Wimmer family to take part in their Thursday practice session for Thursday's Hero.
The three youngest children, Colton, Brock, and Kaisa each suffer from a condition called Neurofibromatosis, a neurological disease where nerve tissues can develop tumors.
Kaisa, the youngest, has a brain tumor because of this condition and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The Wimmer father said: "You look at [Kaisa] and she doesn't even know. I wish everybody that's gone through what she is going through could have the same attitude."
Each of the children received gifts from the team and were able to sign the team's flag that is flown before each game.
"I've lived with it myself and it hasn't stopped me," said the Wimmer father. "It's not going to stop them."
