SALT LAKE CITY -- Police say a short-lived burglary spree ended with the arrest of two men.
Officers say it started when the pair stole a car in a North Salt Lake neighborhood around 1:30 a.m. Monday. Police say they also stole items from the front porches of at least two homes within a block of the car theft.
Within minutes, police received calls from several witnesses about the crimes. Some of the responding officers saw the suspects as they were driving out of the neighborhood. When officers tried to stop the car, the suspects drove off toward Salt Lake City.
The suspects made it as far as Beck Street and 500 North before they lost control of the car and skidded onto a sidewalk.
Both smen fled on foot, but officers soon found them hiding in a backyard and arrested them.
