Looking for something to do to celebrate Pioneer Days? Several communities around the state plan to hold special activities. Here is a list of some of the events: Bountiful -- A Grand Parade, games and activities are all part of the Bountiful Handcart Days. The main event is the Grand Parade on Friday at 6 p.m. The parade starts on Main Street from 1500 South to 400 North, then west to 100 West. Around 9:45 p.m. fireworks will go off at Mueller Park Jr. High. Several activities will also be held Friday and Saturday at the Bountiful City Park on 400 North and 200 West. For more information, Click here. Kanab -- The theme for the Kanab Pioneer Day Celebration is "Pioneers in Blue Jeans." The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday. After the parade there will be free games and booths at the State Bank and Gazebo. Dutch oven dinners, ice cream and drinks will also be served for a minimal charge. Entertainment will be provided. Logan -- Lots of activities are planned on Saturday for the Pioneer Day celebrations. It all starts with the annual Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at 7 a.m. at Willow Park Lions Pavilion. At noon, it's time for the parade. The route starts at Center Street and 100 West and proceeds west along Center Street to 500 West, turns left and heads to Willow Park. For more information click here.Mapleton -- A lot of events will be held on Saturday, July 24 to celebrate the "Days Gone By." There's a 5K race and a "Fun Run." A parade begins at 9 a.m. It will start at Mapleton Jr. High school and end at Mapleton Elementary. Fireworks will go off at the Ira Allen Park at dusk. Click here for the schedule of events. Ogden -- Activities will be held all week for the Ogden Pioneer Days. Fireworks will be on Thursday and Saturday, following the rodeo at the Ogden Pioneer Stadium. The Ogden Pioneer Day Parade will be Saturday at 9 a.m. The parade route begins on 31st Street and continues northbound on Washington Boulevard ending on 20th Street. For more information, click here. Orem -- Country music artist Darryl Worley performs his hits "I Miss My Friend" and "Tennessee River Run" at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theater on Saturday July 24. Tickets for the Pioneer Day Concert are $15, $10 for students, seniors and children; reserved seating ranges from $20 to $30 by calling 801-255-ARTS or online at www.scera.org.Provo -- The annual Pioneer Day Extravaganza on Saturday, July 24, will feature games, food, music, and much more. Events are planned in Provo's North Park between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A free movie is planned in the park at dusk. For more info, click here. Salt Lake City -- The Days of ‘47 KSL 5 Parade is one of the largest and oldest in the United States. It begins at 9 a.m. The route starts at South Temple and State Street running east to 200 East, turns south to 900 South, then turns east to Liberty Park at 600 East in Salt Lake City. The Deseret News Marathon/10K/5K Walk, Marathon starts at 5:30 a.m. at Big Mountain above Emigration Canyon. Race temperature in the canyon is normally 40 and in the valley is normally 75. The 10K starts at 6 a.m. Research Park on Chipeta Way, on the University of Utah Campus. And there is also a non-competitive 5K Walk, which begins at 7 a.m. at EnergySolutions Arena. For more information click here. Food and arts & crafts booths are all part of the Native American Celebration in the Park. Events at Liberty Park (1100 South and 600 East) start at 7 a.m. There will also be a Powwow. Fireworks will go on despite oil leak at Liberty Park. Up to 50,000 people are expected to be in the park Saturday night. Spanish Fork -- The Fiesta Days Grand Parade welcomes Queen Royalties from throughout Utah County, as well as marching bands and fabulous floats.
