SALT LAKE CITY -- Primary Children's Medical Center got a big boost Thursday.
Smith's Food and Drug Stores handed over a $1 million check to the hospital after a local fundraising campaign.
The donation was especially meaningful to Smith's corporate office associate Ryan Poole, whose two children have spent the past several years being treated at Primary Children's for a rare hearing and vision disorder.
Last year, Primary Children's expended more than $14 million to cover more than 14,000 hospital visits by needy children.
