LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- The Willow Park Zoo in Logan is about $115,000 short of meeting expenses.

The 40-year-old zoo has a reserve fund of $240,000, meaning the zoo has enough money to keep operating for about two years.

The zoo may have to close, it could be reduced in size, the city could subsidize it with general fund money or admission fees could be charged.

Some visitors to the zoo say they'd be willing to pay a couple of dollars to get in. Hyrum resident Shari Henrikson says paying $2 would be fine. She likes the zoo's proximity to her home and thinks it's great that a city the size of Logan has its own facility.

Zoo superintendent Rod Wilhelm estimates the zoo saw about 98,000 visitors in 2009.
