(KSL News) There are new plans for the future of the Living Planet Aquarium.

Acting board chairman Brad Carroll says the aquarium will no longer aim for a $34.5-million bond from Salt Lake County. It also will not build a permanent aquarium in Salt Lake City.

Instead it will look to obtain donated land somewhere in Salt Lake County and try to raise funds through private donations.

This comes as 10 members of the aquarium's board of directors resigned, leaving only two of the original 12. Also police are investigating embezzelment accusations against a former employee.
