SALT LAKE CITY -- A small fire at a gas station forced the closure of a section of Foothill Drive Saturday.
Firefighters received reports of an explosion at a Phillips 66 near 1600 South around 2:30. The workers said they smelled smoke and heard a loud bang.
When crews arrived, they found a small fire in the stock room at the back of the store. The flames caused minimal damage and firefighters were able to put it out quickly.
Investigators shut down Foothill Drive from 1300 South to 1700 South to look for potential gas leaks. The road reopened a short time later.
