SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Boy Scout Walker Lansbarkis could earn a merit badge for dedication.
The 18-year-old has earned each of 126 available Boy Scout merit badges. He is the first scout Bountiful's Troop 220 to accomplish the feat. The patches are displayed on two blankets at his home.
To earn the badges, Lansbarkis has studied aviation, geology and space exploration. He learned about whitewater rafting, scuba diving and tried carpentry, tracking, signaling and pathfinding -- four badges brought out of retirement this year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.
Lansbarkis says his quest for the 126 badges started about 10 years ago.
His father says many scouts stop pursuing badges once they earn 21 -- the number needed to become an Eagle Scout.
