(KSL News) Utah County may not be on the minds of the presidential candidates, but the contest is definitely important to locals.
The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that 80,000 Utah County residents have newly registered for next week's election. That's an increase of 44 percent in voter rolls.
New voters registering Democrat increased 7 percent, while the percentage registering as Republicans has slipped nearly 10 percent.
