FIFA says the Lusail Stadium held the most people at the World Cup since the 1994 final. There were 91,194 people at the Rose Bowl in California to see Brazil beat Italy in that penalty shootout. The record World Cup attendance is 173,850 at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Uruguay beat host Brazil 2-1 in the 1950 tournament's final game.

Denmark has been here before. The Danes face a must-win game at the World Cup to make it through to the knockout stage. It was even worse last year at the European Championship when Denmark lost its first two games while trying to cope with the trauma of teammate Christian Eriksen's cardiac arrest in the first match against Finland. All seemed lost. But Denmark beat Russia 4-1 in its final group game using Eriksen as an inspiration and made it all the way to the Euro 2020 semifinals. Forward Andreas Cornelius says Denmark's players will "carry that with us" at the World Cup when they face Australia.

A flag about neighboring independent state Kosovo was hung in the locker room before Serbia played Brazil on Thursday. It showed a map of Serbia that included the territory of its former province and the slogan "No Surrender." Kosovo has been an independent state for nearly 15 years. Photos circulated of the banner draped over the lockers of Milos Veljkovic and Andrija Zivkovic ahead of the team's 2-0 loss to Brazil. Serbia does not recognize Kosovo's independence.

The 40-year-old Donovan was a midfielder and forward who scored 57 goals in 157 international appearances from 2000 through 2014. He is tied with Clint Dempsey for the U.S. scoring record and is second in appearances. The 40-year-old Beasley became the first American to play in four World Cups: 2002, '06, '10 and '14. A defender and midfielder, he scored 17 goals in 126 international appearances from 2001-17.

Tite brought nine forwards to the World Cup and could also add a midfielder as Neymar's replacement if wanted. Neymar hurt his right ankle in Brazil's opening 2-0 win over Serbia on Thursday. The most straight forward option would be to use Rodrygo in Neymar's position. Another alternative would be to put an extra midfielder in Neymar's position to free up the other forwards.

Qatari authorities say a fire has broken out at an under-construction building in a newly built city where a World Cup match is set to be played Saturday evening but caused no injuries.Qatar's Interior Ministry says the fire started just after noon local time on an island that's part of the city of Lusail, which is hosting several games during the tournament, including a match between Argentina and Mexico late Saturday. The blaze was about 3.5 kilometers (2 miles) from Lusail Stadium. It sent thick black smoke into the sky, which was visible from a marketplace in central Doha as World Cup fans milled among its shops and restaurants.
