FARMINGTON — Outdoor retailer Cabela's opened its second Utah location Thursday in Farmington.
Hundreds of people lined up to be among the first customers to visit the new 70,000-square-foot store at 391 N. Cabela’s Drive near the intersection of Station Parkway and Park Lane on the west side of I-15. The new store is retailer’s second location in Utah, joining the Lehi store that opened in 2005.
The store offers customers a grand outdoor experience with wood construction, stonework, wildlife displays and taxidermy mounts to go along with vintage outdoor photos and memorabilia, hand-painted murals, an aquarium and an indoor archery range. Additionally, the store also has a cafe, gun library and an array of outdoor products.
Founded in Sidney, Nebraska, in 1961 by Richard Cabela, the company is a direct marketer and specialty retailer of hunting, fishing, camping, shooting and related outdoor recreation merchandise with annual revenues topping $850 million. The company operates more than 60 stores in North America.
