MOAB — Exposure to the cold caused the death of Michael Cavallari, the Grand County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday.

Cavallari, 30, the brother of reality TV star Kristin Cavallari and brother-in-law of NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, was found dead on Dec. 10 in the Salt Wash area near I-70 in Grand County. He had been missing since his abandoned vehicle was found in Utah on Nov. 27. The vehicle was found running and the air bag deployed.

The Utah State Medical Examiner's Office determined that Cavallari's death was accidental, caused by hypothermia from exposure to cold temperatures, according to the sheriff's office.

Temperatures at night at that time dipped below freezing.
