PROVO — Weekly league honors are becoming quite the trend for BYU women's basketball.

After Kalani Purcell was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for three consecutive weeks, teammate Lexi Eaton Rydalch got in on the action Monday.

The senior from Springville High earned the weekly honor after passing former Loyola Marymount star Alex Cowling as the WCC's all-time leading scorer last week. Rydalch topped the league mark with her 31-point effort at LMU last Thursday, then followed it up with a career-high-tying 37 points against Pepperdine.

Rydalch averaged 34.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 61 percent from 3-point range in leading BYU to the pair of wins. BYU is tied with San Diego for the top spot in the WCC at 10-1. The 18-4 Cougars are on a 10-game winning streak and travel to Saint Mary's on Thursday.

Collinsworth among nation's best point guards

Meanwhile, Kyle Collinsworth continues to have a special senior season with the BYU men's basketball team. The senior from Provo High is one of 10 finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, given to the nation's top point guard by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Collinsworth has led BYU to a 16-7 overall record and a 7-3 mark in the WCC while averaging 15.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game. His four triple-doubles are the second-most in a season in NCAA history — topping his own mark of six last season to give him an NCAA-record 10 triple-doubles in his career.

He's also become BYU's career leader in assists and rebounds and is the only player in the NCAA in the last 20 years to have accumulated at least 1,400 points, 900 rebounds, 600 assists and 200 steals in his career.

The Hall of Fame selection committee will narrow the Cousy Award list down to five finalists in early March, and the winner will be announced April 8 at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show in Los Angeles.
