TY DETMER'S HOUSE — Believe it or not, Heisman Trophy winners are just like the rest of us.
Which in Utah means they bring missionaries to the house for dinner and challenge them to a game of ping pong, too.
Let us explain as we take a look at some of our favorite moments from the weekend in sports.
Ty Detmer, ping pong champion
Detmer is the new offensive coordinator at BYU, in case you haven't heard, and he had a couple of special guests over this weekend: the missionaries.
While they were there, one missionary played the former BYU quarterback in a game of ping pong. Detmer obliged, and current BYU backup quarterback Koy Detmer Jr. caught part of the match on video.

Detmer went on to win the game 2-1. Which is a good thing, because we heard that Elder had his eye on pulling a certain trophy out of the case had he been victorious.
Speaking of BYU …
Ziggy Ansah has style
While most Pro Bowl-caliber NFL players were enjoying the beach and (mildly) playing a football game in Hawaii on Sunday, the former BYU defensive end showed off his style in Honolulu.

And the only thing better than Ansah's shorts was his response when ESPN caught him on Twitter.

We've heard Hawaii is hot this time of year. But Ziggy Ansah was cool as ice.
Speaking of cool …
World's greatest Olympian proves best distraction
The student section at Arizona State has a tradition called the 'curtain of distraction.'
As the name implies, every time an opposing player goes to the free-throw line, the students hold up a curtain and reveal a distraction with the intent of making that player miss.
In Thursday's night game against Oregon State, the Sun Devils unveiled their latest distraction. All-time Olympics great Michael Phelps never went to college, but he was happy to get in on the action with his new hometown team in Tempe, Arizona.
The best part? It worked: OSU guard Stephen Thompson Jr. missed both free throws during Arizona State's 86-68 victory.
