Lone Peak hangs 100 on Lehi; Obrey's game-winner leads Layton by Davis

ALPINE — Lone Peak basketball star Frank Jackson learned Saturday he will be just the sixth Utahn named as a McDonald's All-American and the first in 16 years.

On Tuesday night, he was sitting on the bench for most of the fourth quarter with 18 points as the Knights ran to a 100-66 thumping of Region 4 rival Lehi.

Steven Ashworth had 15 points and seven assists for Lone Peak, which got nine points each from Garrett Frampton and Talmage Gunther as the Knights (11-3, 3-0 Region 4) kept their unbeaten region record intact with a win over the Pioneers.

LAYTON 40, DAVIS 38 — At Layton, Chandler Obrey hit the game-winner with two seconds remaining to lift the Lancers (5-8, 2-1 Region 2) by the Darts in Region 2 action.

Kedric Jakoby Kemp led the defending 5A state champion Lancers with 13 points, while Obrey and Utah football commit Julian Blackmon added 10 points apiece for the Lancers, who scored in single digits in three of the four quarters of play.

Landon Swartz paced the Darts with 13 points and eight rebounds.
