LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Derrick Jones Jr. scored 21 points and UNLV picked up its third straight win, and first win on the road in Mountain West play, with an 80-68 victory at Utah State on Tuesday night.

The win makes the Runnin' Rebels 3-0 under interim-coach Todd Simon.

Dave Rice resigned from his post as the team's head coach January 10 after UNLV lost its first three Mountain West games to unimpressive opponents and had lost five of six games.

The Rebels (12-7, 3-3) shot 53.4 percent, hitting 31 of 58 from the field, including 4 of 13 from distance. Dwayne Morgan scored 13 points, while Stephen Zimmerman Jr. and Jerome Seagears each added 12 points. Zimmerman grabbed 16 rebounds.

The Aggies (11-7, 3-4) were led by Chris Smith, who scored 16 points, with Lew Evans and Shane Rector adding 12 each off the bench.
