THE WILD — So the thing about the Internet is that we get to see wild animals in up close and personal ways without any feeling of encroachment or danger.

This may or may not lead to us giving wild animals more cuddly credit than they deserve. I mean, this hilarious bear rolling down a hill seems like a chill dude, but he'd still probably take violent issue with you if you came face to face with him in the wild.

This "no respecter of persons" attitude given to wild animals by nature also applies to whatever structures or equipment we as humans set up on the wild. And that is just why one suspected woodpecker decided a microwave tower was the perfect place for some nut storage.

A nest or two and a few nuts probably wouldn't make much of a difference for a tower designed to get television and phone signals to us, but we ain't talking about a few nuts.

In this video — which was first posted in 2009 but is currently garnering new attention — a worker opens the top of the giant drum-like tower and thousands upon thousands of acorns rain down to the ground.

Trust me, you won't believe how many nuts are in that thing. We're talking an estimated 35 to 50 gallons of acorns weighing it at approximately 300 pounds. Just watch and thank me later.
