MONUMENT VALLEY, San Juan County — The San Juan County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 32-year-old man as a homicide.

On Friday, deputies and the Utah Highway Patrol received a call from a passing motorist who spotted a car off to the side of state Route 163 with a body lying behind it.

Rojear Nelson, 32, of Monument Valley, was found behind a vehicle with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen, according to the sheriff's office. Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies found Nelson's brother, Rodale Nelson, 34, of Monument Valley, walking about about a mile away from the car. He was taken to the sheriff's office for questioning.
