WEST VALLEY CITY — A West Valley man was charged Tuesday with having unlawful sex with a 15-year-old girl to whom he allegedly sold drugs.

Lee Ervin Heyen, 40, was charged in 3rd District Court with four counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and two counts of distribution or arranging to distribute a controlled substance, all third-degree felonies.

Charging documents say Heyen had sex with a girl he dealt drugs to four times between May 1 and July 21. The documents state that the girl spent a lot of time smoking marijuana with Heyen.

Heyen first made advances on the girl after he asked her why she spent so much time with him, and she said she thought he was "cool," charging documents state. Heyen then proceeded to have sex with the girl, according to the charges.

The girl told police Heyen knew her age because she is friends with Heyen's 15-year-old son.
