PROVO — The BYU basketball season is about a month away, but the program revealed their standard home and away jerseys for the 2015-16 season Monday afternoon.

The Cougars revealed their all-white home jerseys first via Twitter, featuring a new typeface on the front of the jersey and faded gray stripes down the side of the shorts.

The road uniforms came in the standard issue blue with the primary "Oval Y" logo etched into the front of the jersey.

But the back of the jersey also includes the Cougars' official secondary logo, the 1950s-era Cosmo head that many fans have called the "Sailor Coug" for a few years.

The uniforms are in addition to BYU's previously announced "throwback uniform" that includes royal blue letters and an old-school type face for the "Brigham Young" plate.

BOOM SHAKALAKA — BYU also announced the date of its now-annual preseason exhibition Boom Shakalaka.

The BYU men's and women's basketball team will host the showcase Oct. 3 in the newly remodeled Marriott Center. The showcase will include a skills competition, 3-point shooting contest and slam dunk contest. Players from the men's and women's basketball teams will be onhand throughout the display, as well as the BYU Dunk Team and an all-fan, four-team 3-on-3 tournament that will be selected via social media.

Admission to the event is free, and BYUtv will broadcast the 7 p.m. start.

Here are highlights from last year's event, which was held in the Smith Fieldhouse.
