SALT LAKE CITY — Another Utah couple whose daughter became sick after eating contaminated cucumbers has sued a California produce distributor.

Rebecca and Christopher Busico's 8-year-old daughter tested positive for salmonella in August after being hospitalized with a fever, headaches and bloody diarrhea, according to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court. The Tooele girl ate cucumbers her grandmother bought in a Utah grocery store, which isn't named in the suit.

The Seattle-based food safety law firm Marler Clark filed the lawsuit against Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce, which imported the vegetables from Mexico. The tainted cucumbers were recalled in September.

Marler Clark represents other Utahns who have sued the distributor.

Jesse and Meghann Mills allege their 5-year-old son became seriously ill after eating cucumbers likely bought at the Macey's in Sandy in mid-August.

Janette Painter was hospitalized with salmonella for a week in August after eating cucumbers purchased at Macey's in Spanish Fork, according to her lawsuit.
