WEST JORDAN — A Blessing of the Animals was performed Sunday by Father Patrick Carley of the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in West Jordan. Many churches celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi every Oct. 4. The feast commemorates the life of St. Francis, who was born in the 12th century and is the Catholic Church's patron saint of animals and the environment.
