FREMONT — Angel Arvizo returned an interception 58 yards for a touchdown to break a 6-6 tie, and Roy outlasted Fremont, 19-15 in a Region 1 rivalry game Friday night.

After the Silverwolves (2-3) took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on Hunter Behm's field goal, Roy's Baby Tee Eteuati opened the scoring for the Royals (3-1) with a 5-yard touchdown dive to grab a lead his team would never relinquish.

Fremont tied the game at 6-6 on Behm's second field goal just before halftime, but the Royals edged the hosts, 13-9 to take home the victory.

Hunter Mather added a 62-yard scoring run with just under nine minutes left in the third quarter to help ice the game with a 19-6 lead.

Austin Freeman rattled off an 11-yard touchdown run to pull Fremont with six, 19-13 with 4:26 left in the fourth quarter, but the Royals held out.

Roy's Brayden Sampson ran backwards on the final play of the game and took a 52-yard safety to adjust the final margin of victory.

SPRINGVILLE 16, SPANISH FORK 14 — At Spanish Fork, Springville forced a game-winning intentional grounding call in Spanish Fork's end zone to survive the Dons and move to 2-0 in the longstanding local rivalry with two of the top teams in Region 8.

Jaxon Higginson scored on a 56-yard yard touchdown strike from Nate Keiseil in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 14-14, and the Dons (3-3, 1-1 Region 8) were driving for the game winner with just under two minutes left when the Red Devil defense backed them up to their goal line and forced the 2-point win.

Higginson gave Spanish Fork a 6-0 lead in the opening quarter with a 40-yard TD haul from Keisel, but Devyn Tate answered right back with a 75-yard scoring run for Springville (5-0, 2-0).

Bryce Nelson gave the Red Devils a 14-7 halftime lead on a 3-yard TD run in the second quarter, and Springville used its defense to clamp down before Higginson nearly pulled the Dons back.

Springville hosts Uintah next week, and Spanish Fork heads to crosstown rival Maple Mountain at 7 p.m.

TIMPVIEW 42, PROVO 7 — At Timpview, the Thunderbirds ended the Bulldogs' 4-0 start with a humbling defeat for their 26th straight win in the crosstown rivalry series. Saia Folaumahina scored four of Timpview's first five touchdowns, including a 40-yard game-sealing TD run in the third quarter. Samson Nacua added two touchdowns for Timpview (4-1, 2-0 Region 7), a 34-yard TD grab from Kahi Neves and a 99-yard kick return in the fourth quarter.

Provo quarterback Viliami Iongi found Utah commit Ty Jones for a 49-yard scoring strike in the final period for the lone touchdown for the Bulldogs (4-1, 1-1).

Timpview plays at Orem next Friday, and Provo travels to Highland for a pair of 7 p.m. kickoffs.

JUAN DIEGO 35, MORGAN 21 — At Juan Diego, Alex Hoffman hit Josh Vasquez on back-to-back scoring strikes in the third quarter to help the Soaring Eagle pull away for the big 3A North region win.

Spencer Larsen scored on a one-yard TD plunge to put Morgan (3-2, 0-1), but Hoffman found Kaden Hayward to tie the game at 7-7 for Juan Diego (4-1, 1-0).

Hayward 7-yard TD run made the game 14-7, but not for long, when Tucker Skin floated a ball to Larsen for the 80-yard score to tie the game at 14-14 at halftime.

Austin Francis scored on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter for Morgan, and Hoffman added a 10-yard TD run for Juan Diego.

BOUNTIFUL 28, WOODS CROSS 7 — At Bountiful, recent BYU commit Max Tooley caught two touchdown passes to help the Braves pull away from the Wildcats in another crosstown rivalry. Bountiful (3-2, 1-1 Region 5) opened the scoring with three-straight touchdowns, capped by Tooley's first score on a one-yard run to go up 21-0 in the second quarter.

Braxton Gunther put Woods Cross (1-4, 0-2) on the board right before the half with a 22-yard run, but Tooley iced the game 39-yard run in the third quarter.

VIEWMONT 21, SYRACUSE 7 — At Viewmont, the Vikings outscored the Titans 15-0 in the fourth quarter to pull away with the win.

Cole Huish spotted Scott Young for a 16-yard scoring strike in the second quarter to open the quarter for the Vikings (3-3, 2-1 Region 2), but Syracuse (2-4, 1-2) answered through Alex Forbush's two-yard run to take a 7-6 lead at halftime.

It was all Viewmont in the second half, though. Huish threw for another touchdown and ran for one more to lead the Vikings to the win.

DESERT HILLS 37, HURRICANE 10 — At Hurricane, the Thunder put up 30-unanswered points and rolled to an easy win over the Tigers.

Cody Ricketts led Desert Hills (2-2, 1-0 3AA South) with two touchdown grabs from Nick Warmsley, who accounted for four touchdowns on the day.

Jacob Carr scored on an 80-yard touchdown run for Hurricane (2-2, 0-1).

AMERICAN FORK 10, CORNER CANYON 7 — At American Fork, Brock Hughes caught a 36-yard TD pass from Tanner Smith in the opening quarter, and Jacob Whitehead added a 28-yard field goal in the third quarter to help the Cavemen (4-2) hold off the Chargers.

Tyler Critchfield scored on a six-yard run in the final period for Corner Canyon (1-4), but the Chargers could get no closer.

CANYON VIEW 55, MANTI 28 — At Manti, the Falcons (4-1, 1-0 3A South) piled up 28-unanswered points in the second quarter to roll the Templars (2-3, 0-1) in 3A South play.

Jackson Vasi had three touchdowns to lead Canyon View, and Michael Musto accounted for four scores for the Falcons.

Derek Wright accounted for two touchdowns to lead Manti.
