FREMONT — KSL's Game Night Live Game of the Week is Fremont-Roy, a friendly but fierce rivalry in northern Utah that promises to be a physical, tight game.

Roy comes in at 2-1 and Fremont 2-2, but the Silverwolves have been involved in two tight games against two of the best teams in the state.

Don't let the records fool you; this one will be close.

The Silverwolves are just five points away from being 4-0, with a triple-overtime loss at Mountain Crest and a two-point loss against Brighton on two missed extra points.

"When we're battling with really good teams and getting so close, it makes us feel good. We know we have the potential, but we just aren't finishing and we need to finish," Fremont quarterback Saxton Morby said.

Overcoming that adversity has been a key to the Silverwolves.

"One of our goals is to fight through adversity," linebacker Caleb Ingram said. "We've had some adversity this year, some close games, some good games. But we don't get too high and we don't get too low."

Now Fremont will contend with the Region 4 rival Royals, a resurgent rivalry with faces on the field and in the local community.

"Fremont's a really good game, probably one of the toughest teams on our schedule this year," Roy linebacker Chase Storey said. "We just have to play to our full potential."

After a season-opening loss at Jordan, Roy has won two in a row and looks to keep momentum rolling from last year's appearance in the Class 4A state title game.

"Every year we've been improving," Storey said. "Last year, we had a good state run. This year, we just have to be better than last year."

Fremont knows it has its hands full, even at home.

"They're big and they're really fast, and they'll do everything they can to win," Morby said. "The rivalry between the two schools in the past makes this a big game."

Roy has won three-straight rivalry matchups, but the last two by just eight total points.

"It's just kind of fun, because we all kind of know each other, and you're trying to beat your friends," Roy linebacker Dalton Skidmore said.
