MURRAY — All northbound lanes near 7200 South on I-15 reopened Thursday afternoon after a dump truck spilled diesel fuel, officials said.

Several lanes opened early in the afternoon, but one right lane remained closed until around 4, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said the truck hit a box spring at 11:08 a.m., which punctured both fuel tanks.

UDOT and Hazmat responded to the scene, Royce said.

Royce said diesel fuel creates an extremely slick surface on pavement.
