LOGAN — Utah State athletics announced a record number of season tickets have been sold for the 2015 football season, and fewer than 500 total tickets remain for the game against BYU on Nov. 28.

The record of 10,784, which does not include tickets in the Aggie student section, breaks the record of 10,037 set in 2013. Individual game tickets go on sale to the public Monday, and fewer than 300 season tickets are still available for the season.

Fewer than 500 tickets are available to be sold for the Aggies' home game Nov. 28 against BYU, an in-state rivalry on the final week of the regular season for both teams. The school expects an advanced sellout for that game, as well as home games against Colorado State on Oct. 3 and against Boise State on Oct. 16.

Maverik Stadium, the formerly named E. Lowell "Dick" Romney Stadium in honor of the former Aggie coach and athletic director, will have a capacity of 22,044 when it re-opens in the fall. The official capacity jumped to 25,513 in1980, when the school added 4,000 chair-back seats to replace wooden bleachers on the west side of the stadium. Additional seating renovations have come in 1991, 2001 and 2003, as well as more planned renovations through the summer of 2015.

In spring 2015, Utah State and Maverik, Inc., entered into a $6.3 million stadium naming rights agreement through the 2037 season. The agreement also helped pay for stadium reconstruction, which includes a new press box and luxury suite deck as well as modifications that affect overall seating capacity.
