HEBER — A Heber City man got quite the surprise when the truck he won was delivered to him by "The Mailman" himself.

Mike Garcia sunk a 165-yard hole-in-one during the annual Coyote Classic Golf Tournament at the Dinaland Golf Course in Vernal on June 19. As a result, he was rewarded with a new 2015 Dodge Ram truck from the Karl Malone Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealership in Heber City.

However, he wasn't anticipating the dealership's namesake to deliver the keys himself.

"Karl Malone made a special trip to give away the truck because he believes in the importance of the community," Suncrest Marketing Agency spokesman Derek Marcroft said.

Malone presented Garcia with the keys to the truck and jokingly asked if Garcia was going to get in the truck.

"If I can't get in, you might have to pick me up," Garcia said, laughing.

Malone played for the Utah Jazz from 1985–2003 and retired from the NBA in 2005. In 2006, the Jazz honored him by retiring his number, 32, and erecting a bronze statue of him in front of the Energy Solutions Arena.
