HURRICANE — A man's high speed drive through Washington County ended when he crashed into a responding officer's vehicle Sunday morning.
Around 4:30 a.m. a Washington County sheriff's deputy in Toquerville tried to stop a Dodge Charger driving around 100 mph through the area. The driver, Michael Ryan Dalby, 32, from Bluffdale, recklessly sped on through LaVerkin and Hurricane, the sheriff's office reported.
In Hurricane, the Charger finally came to a stop after colliding with the vehicle of a responding Hurricane City police officer, according to the sheriff's office.
Dalby was taken into custody and to the hospital for medical clearance.
Investigators determined that the Charger had been stolen in South Salt Lake on Tuesday.
The sheriff's office said that upon release from the hospital, Dalby would be booked into the Washington County Jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, driving under the influence, evading police, reckless driving and probation violation.
