SALT LAKE CITY — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made waves over the weekend with a Facebook post attacking Planned Parenthood with the Confederate flag.

The post, which includes side-by-side images of the flag and the Planned Parenthood logo, reads: "Which symbol killed 90,000 black babies last year?" Palin follows up with the hashtag: #defundplannedparenthood.

The post comes in response to the recent scandal involving videos captured by a hidden camera that show Planned Parenthood officials discussing how the organization provides aborted fetal organs for research.

Pro-lifers claim the videos prove Planned Parenthood is illegally harvesting the organs for profit, while top officials with the group say they've done nothing wrong and that the videos were unfairly edited to demonize the organization in a dishonest way.

Palin has been actively promoting the defunding of Planned Parenthood with a series of posts over the past few weeks. The posts include statistics involving abortion and quotes from its founders.

The conservative Republican has also been highly vocal in her support of the Confederate flag, which has been removed from statehouses and banned in states across the South in recent weeks.

Since its initial appearance on her page, Palin's post has been liked more than 121,000 times and shared by over 75,000.
