LOGAN — Criminal charges were filed Thursday against a Utah State University student accused of raping three and possibly more women on campus.
Jason Brian Relopez, 27, of Hemet, California, was charged Thursday in 1st District Court with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping and rape, all first-degree felonies.
The alleged assaults date back to October of 2014, according to charging documents.
The attacks were believed to have taken place at the Sigma Chi fraternity house, according to Logan police. He was originally arrested for investigation of seven counts of rape.
Earlier this week investigators said they suspect other women may have been victimized by Relopez and encouraged anyone who might have been to come forward.
Relopez has since been suspended from the school, banned from the campus and kicked out of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
His next court hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
The charges come two months after former USU student and Pi Kappa Alpha chapter president Ryan Wray, 26, was charged with forcible sexual abuse, a first-degree felony, after allegedly inappropriately touching a woman passed out at a party.
