SANDY — Real Salt Lake defender Tony Beltran was named to the MLS All-Star gameday roster, joining goalkeeper Nick Rimando for the league event that will be played July 29 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado.

Rimando, who is currently with the U.S. Men's National Team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, was named as part of the league's "Fan XI" voting contest. Beltran was one of 11 players named by Colorado Rapids and MLS All-Stars head coach Pablo Mastroeni on Saturday.

The summer showcase, which will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 and UniMas, will pit a team of the league's best against England's Tottenham Hotspur.

Saturday's additions also include Toronto newcomer Sebastian Giovinco, Columbus striker and league-leading scorer Kei Kamara, and Colorado defender Drew Moor representing the hometown club. Seattle's Obafemi Martins, who was a part of the original Fan XI, was not made available for the gameday selection due to injury.

Beltran's all-star nod is the second of his career and the first since 2013.

"To be named to the all-star team, to represent my club and my league is a tremendous honor, and one I am very excited for," Beltran said in a statement. "I must thank the men around me, for without them and their tireless efforts for our club and for each other, this would not be possible. Any minutes I play will be for my coaches and my teammates, and as always I will give everything to best represent this club in the manner it deserves."

Beltran, who grew up a fan of England's Arsenal, is also excited to face Spurs in his version of the North London Derby.

"Tottenham is a team that I have enjoyed watching over the years. An obvious side of quality," he said. "It will be a great enjoyment for me to be able to test my abilities versus theirs. I look forward to the opportunity and the challenge."

The full roster also includes goalkeeper David Ousted (Vancouver Whitecaps FC); defenders DaMarcus Beasley (Houston Dynamo), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Laurent Ciman (Montreal Impact), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Chad Marshall (Seattle Sounders FC), and Chris Tierney (New England Revolution); midfielders Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Fabian Castillo (FC Dallas), Benny Feilhaber (Sporting Kansas City), Steven Gerrard (LA Galaxy), Kaka (Orlando City SC), Frank Lampard (New York City FC) and Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City); and forwards Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC), Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) and David Villa (New York City FC).
