PROVO — A religious freedom conference will take place at the Brigham Young University Conference Center next week to update students, lawyers and the public “on challenges in the United States and around the world,” according to a press release.
With the theme “Fairness for All,” the 2015 Religious Freedom Annual Review will occur July 6 to 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Religious freedom has recently been addressed by leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ, who encourage church members to be informed on the topic.
Sponsored by the International Center for Law and Religion Studies at BYU, the conference will feature speakers such as Robin Fretwell Wilson of the University of Illinois College of Law, W. Cole Durham Jr. of BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, Utah Gov. Gary R. Herbert and church representatives.
The "experts in politics, law and communications" presentations and workshops will cover cultural and political trends, religious issues in public schools and the use of social media in promoting religious freedom.
