OGDEN CANYON — A Las Vegas man was killed Sunday when he crashed the motorcycle he had just purchased.

Boonma Sutan, 47, had traveled to Utah to purchase the motorcycle and was riding with friends on state Route 39 near Monte Cristo before returning to Las Vegas, according to the Weber County Sheriff's Office. Sutan lost control on a curve and crashed down a rocky ravine about 10 a.m. Sunday.

Another rider offered medical aid following the crash and medical personnel and a sheriff's deputy administered CPR at the scene. Sutan was pronounced dead when a medical helicopter arrived, the sheriff's office reported.

Sutan, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, died from extensive injuries, according the sheriff's office.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Investigators believe speed contributed to the accident.
