LOGAN — Utah State men's basketball beefed up its front line with its latest addition Monday.

Utah State head coach Tim Duryea announced the addition of small forward Alexis Dargenton after receiving a commitment from the 6-foot-7 Laramie County Community College product. Dargenton, a native of Fort-de-France, Martinique, will enroll at Utah State as a sophomore and have three years of eligibility remaining.

“Alexis is a very versatile player who is just scratching the surface of his basketball ability,” Duryea said in a statement. “Versatility as a player is a big key in today’s college basketball world. Alexis is a great kid and a very good student as well. We are very excited to watch him realize his potential as an Aggie.”

Dargenton averaged 12.4 points on 68 percent shooting as a freshman at the Wyoming-based junior college. He also averaged 7.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals and a team-high 1.1 blocks per game as a freshman in helping Laramie County to a 22-10 record and a run to the Region IX quarterfinals.

The sophomore-to-be weighs in at 190 pounds and registers a 6-11 wingspan.

Dargenton becomes the 14th member of Utah State's 2015-16 roster to date, and joins fellow junior college transfer Shane Rector (Miami-Dade) and standout Dusan Majstorovic (Lee Academy Prep) in the current recruiting class. Brock Miller (Brighton HS) and New Hampshire's Crew Ainge (Kimball Union Academy) will join the team in 2017-18 after serving two-year missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
