MILLCREEK — Two people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Millcreek Friday morning, police said.
Albert E. Baer, 51, and Carla J. Duralia, 24, were both arrested after initially fleeing the scene of the incident on foot, according to Unified Police Department Lt. Justin Hoyal. Officers initially responded at around 3:00 a.m. to a call at 363 E. Woodlake Cove at the Country Lake Apartments in Millcreek for a report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers found one of the alleged victims, a 28-year-old male, had been playing video games with Baer before an argument ensued and Baer struck the victim in the head with a blunt object described as a brick or a rock, Hoyal said.
The argument awoke the female victim, 25, who began arguing with Duralia. During this confrontation, Duralia stabbed the female victim, according to Hoyal. The males continued to fight outside, where they were broken up by a witness.
During the fight, the suspects stole the victims’ cell phones and attempted to also steal the male victim’s wallet. Baer and Duralia both fled the scene on foot prior to police arriving, Hoyal said.
Both victims were taken to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition, but were later updated to fair condition, Hoyal said. Baer and Duralia were located at an address in West Valley by detectives, according to Hoyal, and both were booked into Salt Lake County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and robbery.
