Community raises more than $3.5M in Primary Children's telethon

SALT LAKE CITY — Friday night, $3,572,444 was raised in the KSL Primary Children’s Hospital telethon.

KSL broadcasts the telethon each year, and all of the money donated goes toward the children the hospital cares for.

With the mission statement “The Child First and Always,” Primary Children’s Hospital provides healthcare to families whether they can pay for it or not. Last year, donations exceeding $14.4 million covered 9,269 hospital visits by children.

Primary Children’s Hospital, which has been ranked as one of the Best Children's Hospitals around by U.S. News and World Report, serves families from Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming and Montana.

Last year's telethon also earned more than $3.5 million.
