MOMSVILLE — It’s Mother’s Day, a day where we’re encouraged to see only the best side of every mother.
But, if we’re honest, even the best mother that ever lived is still not perfect. They are human beings who can make mistakes and be more than frustrating in their interaction with their progeny. (Except for my mom, of course. Hi, Mom! Happy Mother’s Day!)
Again, if we’re honest, mistakes and frustrating interactions also describes another prevalent relationship iPhone users have with a little lady named Siri. Apple’s intentions with Siri are likely good and pure and noble, not unlike the average mother, but there’s just so many times that Siri and mothers just don’t understand.
Bless her little heart, but the day when Siri actually hears me correctly or returns answers to the actual questions I ask will be the day that all mothers truly are perfect.

The Daily Dot’s video hypothesizing Siri as a mother is borderline genius, due in part to a sweet, sweet bonus. That’s right, the woman that plays Siri in the video is the voice actress that Apple used to voice that little darling Siri. Her name is Susan Bennett, and I highly encourage you to check out her website. Most people have heard her voice regularly, even if they aren’t iPhone users. I won’t spoil any of the interactions a “daughter” has with her computer overlord mom, I’ll just let the joy of the video wash over you.
Happy Mother’s Day!
