SALT LAKE CIT - The Salt Lake Bees loaded the bases in the ninth, but were not able to capitalize as the Tacoma Rainiers took a 4-3 win Monday night at Smith's Ballpark.

The Bees trailed 4-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth and were able to pull within a run as Daniel Robertson led off the inning with a double, moved to third on a ground out by Marc Krauss and scored on a pinch-hit single from Ryan Wheeler. Alex Yarbrough reached on an error and Grant Green walked to load the bases, but Josh Rutledge grounded out to end the game.

"We had plenty of opportunities to score runs and we didn't do it," said Salt Lake manager Dave Anderson. "We had 11 hits and scored two runs. If we keep getting them on, hopefully we'll start knocking them in."

Salt Lake starter Nick Tropeano (0-1) tossed six and two-thirds inning, striking out seven while allowing six hits and four earned runs to take the loss. Zach Stewart and Steven Hensley wrapped up the game with two and one-third combined scoreless innings of relief for the Bees. Mike Montgomery (2-2) took the win and Lucas Luetge collected his second save of the season for Tacoma. Robertson, Green and Josh Rutledge each tallied two hits to lead the Bees offensive effort.

The Bees home stand continues through May 11 and will feature Teacher Appreciation Night on Tuesday, Pack the Park Pink on Saturday and Prevention Dimensions Kid's Day on Monday, May 11.
