SALT LAKE CITY — NFL legend and current ESPN NFL analyst Ray Lewis will be one of several big names in the world of sports and fitness appearing at FitCon Utah April 24-25.

FitCon Utah is the first health conference of its kind in Utah and will be held at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy.

The conference is designed to educate and entertain everyone from the fitness beginner to the top-level professional.

“You will learn, you will get motivated and you will want to come next year,” says co-founder Craig Preisendorf.

The two-day event will feature the latest trends in health and fitness and also feature competition in a variety of activities.

Day 1 will focus on the latest in fitness education and trends. There will be 150 booths ranging from cooking demonstrations to the latest in athletic equipment and apparel.

Celebrity guests and speakers Friday will include Lewis, Denver Broncos running back CJ Anderson, baseball legend Dale Murphy, professional bodybuilder Ben Pikulski and Olympic silver medalist Noelle Pikus-Pace.

Day 2 will be a day of competition.

Nine events will take place in one venue, including MMA fights, strongman, weightlifting, powerlifting, break-dancing, boxing and fitness.

Crossfit legend and former Utah football player Tommy Hackenbruck will host a fitness competition throwdown.

YouTube sensation Kevin “Da Hulk” Washington will demonstrate his incredible strength.

The Rocky Mountain Regional Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament will be held Saturday, with the 10 winners earning a chance to compete at the national Golden Gloves tournament in Las Vegas.

There will be a sanctioned powerlifting competition where attempts will be made to break two world records.

The conference will conclude with FitCon Fight Night featuring several amateur and professional MMA fights.

“All of that in two days just to wake people up and bring fitness, real fitness to Utah,” says Preisendorf.

The event will open Friday, April 24, from noon to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with MMA fights beginning Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
