SALT LAKE CITY — Each year, Earth Day inspires millions to contribute to the planet by focusing on how to give back to the world and its resources. Through various activities, participants of all ages take one small step to bettering their community and the Earth. Below is a list of activities to contribute during Earth Day this year.

Alta Earth Day Celebration

Alta is celebrating Earth Day this year by hosting multiple events during its sixth annual community Alta Earth Day. Participants are invited to learn about environmental awareness through eco-friendly vendors, naturalist tours, ski with a Ragnar Tour, birding in Alta and many more activities.

When: Friday, April 17

Where: Altal Ski Area

Admission: Free

Party for the Planet at Tracy Aviary

Earth Day celebrations at Tracy Aviary this year will be done through educational activities and hands-on experience for both children and adults. Visitors will be taught how to take care of the planet along with demonstrations and fun bird encounters.

When: Saturday, April 18 from 9-5 p.m.

Where: Tracy Aviary, 589 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84105

Admission: $5-$7

Earth Day Celebration at the Ogden Nature Center

For Ogden Nature Center, the festivities this year include arts, crafts, live performances and lessons from environmental experts. All ages are welcome to learn how to preserve nature and its natural resources. The event will be held rain or shine.

When: Saturday, April 18 from 11:30—4 p.m.

Where: Ogden Nature Center, 966 W. 12th Street, Ogden, Utah 84404

Admission: $2 per person

Party for the Planet at Utah’s Hoogle Zoo

Joining with over 100 parties held by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Utah’s Hogle Zoo will be having its own Party for the Planet. Visitors are welcomed to participate in activities such as animal enrichment and other presentations. Booths will be set up to inform the public on how to make a big impact on the planet. Organizations such as Wild Aware Utah and other groups will be sharing information on how to help the earth and having awareness of animals.

When: Saturday, April 25 from 10-2 p.m.

Where: 2600 East Sunnyside Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108

Admission: $10.95-$14.95

Draper City Earth Day Celebration

Draper City will be providing drive-thru, drop-off stations for the community to contribute to recycling needs. Stations that will be provided include: paper shredding, books, glasses, prescription drugs, metal, computers, televisions, electronics, clothing, household goods and more.

When: Saturday, April 25 from 10-2 p.m.

Where: Draper City Park, 12500 South 1300 East, Draper, Utah 84020

Admission: Free
