WASHINGTON TERRACE — Weber County Sherrif's Office has identified the victim killed in her Washington Terrace apartment Friday night as Lindsay Brown Holbrook.

Holbrook's body was found just before midnight when deputies and investigators responded to the Woodland Cove Apartments, 374 E. Ridgeland Drive.

Her family issued a statement Sunday, while also asking for privacy during this difficult time.

"Lindsay was a loving mother, amazing aunt, wonderful sister, and she had an incredible sense of humor. She is loved by a lot of people and will be greatly missed.”

Holbrook was a mother to two young children, but luckily neither was present in the apartment at the time of the murder.

Ogden police initially investigated a hit-and-run incident near 3000 Harrison Blvd. involving a vehicle that was being driven by a man but was registered to Holbrook. After attempting to make contact with her at her apartment unsuccessfully, police then entered the apartment to find her deceased, said Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Lane Findlay.

Ogden's Lyle Robert London, 38, was determined by police to be the man driving Holbrook's car. London was apprehended at a residence near the 25th block of Orchard Ave. in Ogden and booked into the Weber County Jail on investigation of aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, abuse and desecration of a human body, and unlawful possession and use of a financial card.

London is an "associate" of the victim, said Findlay, and "it is believed that he murdered her in her Washington Terrace apartment and then tried to conceal the crime. Mr. London then used some of the victim's financial cards and completed several fraudulent transactions."

Shuree Laness London, 35, London's wife, was also booked into Weber County Jail on investigation of obstruction of justice. She allegedly "had knowledge of this crime and assisted Mr. London after the fact," Findlay said. Both London and his wife had prior criminal histories.

Weber County Sheriff Terry Thompson said the investigation is still active and that deputies were following up on many leads in the case.
