SALT LAKE CITY — A day after Real Salt Lake's 3-0 win over previously unbeaten Toronto FC, the team added another accomplishment to its lengthening listen in the early months of 2014.

Defender Tony Beltran has been added to the roster for the U.S. men's national team camp ahead of Wednesday's international friendly against Mexico, U.S. Soccer announced Sunday morning. He joins teammates Kyle Beckerman, Nick Rimando and Luis Gil, making the four selections from RSL the highest representation on this week's national team.

Beltran replaces Seattle's Brad Evans, who did not play in the Sounders' 2-1 loss to Columbus on Saturday.

Beltran started and played the full 90 minutes for RSL on Saturday night, defending the likes of Michael Bradley, Jermain Defoe and Gilberto to maintain Nick Rimando's 110th career shutout.

The 26-year-old Beltran could make his third appearance for the senior national team on Wednesday. His first two came a year ago, when head coach Jurgen Klinsmann called him up for the 2013 Gold Cup. Beltran played 90 minutes in the U.S. team's 4-1 win over Cuba in that tournament.

The UCLA product also has experience at the youth international level, with seven combined caps with the U-20 and U-23 squads. He was also a regular starter on the 2005 U-18 team that won the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland.

Beltran has 137 appearances for RSL since being drafted third overall in 2008.

Wednesday's match will kick off from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., and be broadcast live on ESPN (English) and UniMas (Spanish).
