Correction: The article originally said Utah would be competing as the third seed in the Berkeley regional; however, they are the top seed in that regional and ranked third overall in the nation.INDIANAPOLIS — Utah gymnastics is heading to Berkeley, California, to compete in regional competition April 4 as the top seed. The team learned its seeding and destination during a NCAA.com selection show Monday afternoon. Joining Utah in order of seed are Georgia, Boise State, Cal, Utah State and BYU.
"It's a dangerous regional. We'll need to be at our best," said co-head coach Greg Marsden.
The Red Rocks won the Pac-12 championship Saturday and are ranked third in the nation. They have already competed against everyone in their region except for Cal. Utah defeated all but Georgia, which gave Utah its only regular season loss.

Like the NCAA men's basketball championship tournament, NCAA gymnastics has a championship bracket. It consists of 36 teams, 30 all-around gymnasts (not on a qualifying team) and 24 individual event specialists (not on a qualifying team).
Six regional competitions will take place. Each one consists of six teams along with five all-around competitors and one individual specialist per event, who aren't on a qualifying team. Locations include Auburn University, University of California Berkeley, Iowa State University, Ohio State University, Oklahoma University and West Virginia University.
"It's an easy travel trip for us. We know their arena and do well there," said Georgia Dabritz of traveling to Cal.
The top two teams and all-around gymnasts from each region will receive an automatic berth to the national championship. In addition, the event winners at each regional will advance if they are not part of a qualifying team or an all-around qualifier.
