TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Josh Delph singled home Ben DeLuzio in the bottom of the 10th inning, and Florida State escaped with a 5-4 win over Mercer in the first round of the Tallahassee Regional on Friday night.

DeLuzio bounced a single over the first baseman's head to start the inning and moved to third on a pair of sacrifice bunts, scoring on Delph's single through the right side of a pulled-in Mercer infield.

Billy Strode (3-0) picked up the win in relief, while Dimitri Kourtis (3-2) took the loss.

DeLuzio also scored twice, while John Sansome drove in a pair of runs for Florida State (42-19). Charlie Madden led Mercer (35-22) with three hits.

The Seminoles advanced to meet College of Charleston (44-13) on Saturday night in the double-elimination tournament. Mercer meets third-seeded Auburn (35-25) in a elimination game.
