BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Brandon Doughty threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns as the Red team beat the White 52-40 Saturday in Western Kentucky's spring game.

Nelson Fishback and Drew Eckels also passed for two TDs apiece as spring practice concluded, but Doughty owned the day by completing 18 of 24 passes. Taywan Taylor and Nacarius Fant combined for 11 receptions for 88 and 80 yards, respectively, and a TD each.

DeAndre Farris and linebacker Masai Whyte each had seven tackles to lead the defense and lineman Tanner Reeves had two tackles for a loss.

Coach Jeff Brohm was pleased with WKU's progress this spring and said, "I think we've gotten better on the defensive side of the ball. I liked some of the things (the defense) did today."
